Odette van der Molen successfully graduated the Theater Academy, Maastricht in 1992. A solid foundation on which she subsequently worked as an actress, presenter, creator and comedian. She wrote and starred in satirical sketches for Dutch national television, acted in several children’s shows and presented a show for Dutch national television. Odette also made (and still makes) custom comedy, commissioned for corporate events and other special occasions.
STAND UP COMEDY
Odette has been successful for quite some time with her Standup Comedy Act and is now frequently featured at comedy clubs all over the Netherlands. In 2019 Odette won the audience choice award at the Comedy Talent Award in Utrecht and her career has really taken off since.
With a lot of self-mockery, sharp sense of humor and striking characterizations, she tells how she holds her own in the present time and how she closes the generation gap. Her unique style is suitable for a broad audience, but she might make you blush. Odette can be booked for a 15-minute set or longer.
CUSTOMIZED COMEDY
Odette’s versatility cannot be limited to comedy clubs alone. Odette also creates tailor-made comedy for corporate events and special occasions.
After a consultation with the client, during which the nature of the occasion and possible themes are discussed, Odette will provide a customized performance. Even singing a personalized song is among the options. She has a wealth of experiences with events ranging from weddings, birthdays, corporate celebrations, to women's network gatherings. Making every occasion hilarious.
STAND UP COMEDY IN ENGLISH
A good laugh goes beyond borders and so does Odette’s sense of humor. Not one to shy away from a little challenge, Odette is perfectly happy performing for you, in English.
With delightful Dutch slur she is likely to kill the Queen’s English on the spot, but you won’t mind. She will compensate. Last year Odette joined the English spoken comedy-scene and already is making a name for herself by cracking up expats and tourists.
She can be sharp, honest and direct, not sparing herself one single bit. Her characterizations are spot on and, not entirely free of any self-embarrassment, she’ll discuss current matters and how she deals with her Generation Gap.
